On behalf of all The White Tower, and Tar Valon, I would like to welcome you to The-White-Tower.
com. We have been in operation on MSN Groups for over eight years now and have recently moved to
our own domain, The-White-Tower.com. For such changes and updates in the overall way things are
conducted, check out our blog, and look for announcements on our forums. Management may also
send out email announcements to the entire Tower at once, so please make sure you provide a valid
email address upon joining our forums, and when you fill out the application form.
In order to join us there are several things that you need to do.
*note* You must have read the books or prove you have extensive knowledge of what goes on in them,
if not then you'll be denied, or kicked out if we find out later.
Things and pages you need to read are as follows:
- Please become familiar with our Role Playing Rules. These are very important, the provide a list
of IC (In Character) and OOC (Out of Character) rules for our Tower, and what you can, and can
not do as a member. If you have any questions at any time, feel free to email us at
FAQ@The-White-Tower.com.
Reading these pages is mandatory. For further specific rules for what a character may or may not do
at their rank see the respective pages (for example: novice rules are on a page under "Novices"). The
Gray Ajah also has a section on Tower Law and Customs that you should become familiar with. Those
pages are an ongoing project and should be checked regularly.
Another important fact is this, our site is set about 30 years after the cleansing of Saidin, as such,
there is an entire history you need to be filled in on. For this go to the Brown Ajah and see the Tower
Library. There is a book you can read called The History of Our Tower. That span of time is to
accommodate that Kaydrienne is our Amyrlin, Elayne is Queen of Andor, and the M'Haels of the
Black Tower. When it comes to all the nations, positions of the Seanchan, the High Lords of Tear, the
Forsaken, etc assume that part of the world is where the most recent book left off.
Then, you need to write us a biography for your character. This needs to be at least one page typed.
It needs to include your character's history: where they grew up, where they come from and who they
grew up with, what their personality is, why are they the way they are, etc. For further information,
details, and in case you have more questions about biographies, please see our FAQ page.
This is when you use the appropriate Application Forms; please choose the correct form for the rank
you are applying. Links found at the bottom of this page.
The Application Form will open in a new window, so but please keep reading for now.
*note* You need a valid email address in order to join. @The-White-Tower.com email addresses are
available after your membership has been accepted, contact the Amyrlin if you'd like one.
It will then be approved or denied. If denied you will be told what needs to be changed about it then
you will be given instructions on what to do next. Once your biography is approved it will be put up
in the "Biographies" section of the Library, your application to join will be accepted, and you may
begin to RP.
Once your application to join has been accepted, you may then RP your way around the Tower. Now
if you wish your character to become an initiate of the Tower, they need to make their way to the
respective authority...aka go to the Mistress of Novice's study if you want to become a Novice or to the
Master of Arms if you wish to become a Warder in Training. You may start out at a more advanced
level, or even be a servant, employee of the Tower, citizen of the town, or a character that wanders the
world "Outside Tar Valon". [Outside Tar Valon under construction]
If you wish to use a picture of your character please include a link to it in your application, or email it
to Avatars@The-White-Tower.com for approval. Do not post any pictures that have not been approved.
Please note that if you do not post for 2 months your membership from the site may be revoked. If
you in fact warn the Keeper or Amyrlin that you will be away for an extended period of time, you will
be immune to this policy. If you are active and suddenly disappear, not posting, without warning and
unable to contact you, your membership will be kept until we learn what happened to you. We do
reserve the right to revoke any membership at any time for any reason.
